G.A.T.E. and H.O.R.T.

When I was a kid, I moved a lot and went to a lot of different schools. A couple of the schools put me in an after school program called G.A.T.E., which stands for: Gifted And Talented Education. Earlier, I was thinking about last Saturday's episode of Doctor Who, S8 E10 In the Forest of the Night, when I recalled something that The Doctor's companion, Clara, said. For those of you who don't watch the show or haven't seen the episode yet, spoiler alertClara is a school teacher and she and another teacher were in London for a field trip with their Gifted and Talented class. What I recalled Clara saying was this, 'Doctor, you know they aren't actually gifted and talented, right? I just call it that to make them feel better.'

GUYS, I finally realized, I was never gifted and talented. I was actually in a program for Hyperactive Over Rambunctious Troublemakers. I will never brag about G.A.T.E. ever again. The sad thing is, is that I'm 25 years old, and it took a British science fiction show for me to realize this.

Another Year, Another RenFaire

There were two medieval festivals this last weekend and my family decided to go to one of them. One of the festivals was by the same people that my brother, sister, and I went to last year, the Excalibur Medieval Tournament & Market Faire . The other one was The Medieval Festival of Courage, which is a bit smaller, doesn't have as many events and vendors, but it is a community event that helps local schools and non-profits raise money for education programs. We decided to go to the Medieval Festival of Courage. We were surprised at the amount of people there. I was also pleasantly surprised when we went to get our entrance tickets and saw the amount of work they put into just the ticket booth, Which made me excited to see the rest.

This was taken as we were leaving, but that painted castle thing behind us was the ticket booth. If you can see that window to the right of my mom, that's where we paid for and got the tickets. My Dad was taking the picture and couldn't really see the screen and as you can see my sister got distracted, but the main point was the ticket booth. Unlike my mom, my dad and I don't like taking pictures of things without people we know in them and I think he wanted to take a picture of the booth, so he told us to go stand by it.
After walking in, we were checking out the booths when my dad and I noticed a sign, so my mom took a picture of us with it.
Haha, as you can see, my dad got distracted. That happens a lot in my family. But you cant really blame him when what he got distracted by was this:
I was more amused by the name of the booth behind the Bullbeque.
 Tee hee hee.
I then saw a girl walking around munching on a turkey leg and decided I needed one (even though I don't really like turkey). The Bullbeque booth was the one that had it, or rather, it had a leg o' beast.
I got the Leg o' Beast and my mom, dad, and sister got the Dragon on a Staff, and shared Sir Alan's Ribs. They said that their meat on a stick and ribs were really good and I actually liked my turkey.
Next came the jousting event. There were two "knights" and I don't know their names because we couldn't hear a thing.

They first had to ride by and stick spears into some stumps.

Since they missed the stumps every time they decided to blame the squire for his placement of them. As his punishment, he had to stand there with a helmet and an apple on his head while the knights rode by and tried to knock it off with a sword while hoping the don't knock his head off instead. Then came the joust, my mom took the video so you've got them both in one video.

After the joust we wandered around checking out booths and eating pie. Then we left. on our way home my dad decided to drive around a bit and we ended up at this neat little grove of trees.
Which led us to a jetty.

All in all, it was a fun day.

Art Attack 10-5-14

Guess what? My hair is purple now!
Yaaaay. ♥

In honor of my pretty purple hair, and the fact that I'm wearing a green shirt today, today's art attack is featuring Gamora and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Long Time No See

Wow, I can''t believe I haven't posted since my Mom and Dad's anniversary. Sorry about that. I've been kind of busy,... and lazy. I was going to post earlier today, but then I noticed that almost all of the pictures I've uploaded on my blog were missing, so I've been fixing that for most of the day. There were still a few pictures that I couldn't find my backups of though. : (
So here's what I originally wanted to post for you. I'm obsessed with most things Harry Potter, including the Very Potter Musicals by StarKid productions. Here is a video of my favorite song from the third musical.

25 Years

Today was my parent's 25th anniversary. They're going to celebrate it this weekend, but I went ahead and got them a cake and gave them their present from me today. I'm broke, so I drew a caricature of their 19 year old selves.

When I track down their wedding photo, I'll see if my Mom will let me put it up so you can see their adorable little newly-wed selves.

The Fifth Strikes Back

Sorry I didn't post anything Star Wars-y yesterday. But there is still today, The Fifth Strikes Back, and tomorrow, Revenge of the Sixth. I didn't really do much yesterday, I wore a kind of Star Wars-y outfit though. I didn't get any pictures, so sorry 'bout that. I worked on my light saber hilt that I'm attempting, it's just made out of a paper towel roll and whatnot, but I'm hoping that when it's done it will look cool. I played a bit of Kinect Star Wars, found out my Nana died, cuddled on the couch and watched a movie with my parents, read some Amazing Spider Man fanfiction, and then watched animé 'till midnight. Didn't really do much Star Wars themed stuff. :P Oh well, maybe next year. Happy Fifth Strikes Back, or Cinco de Mayo, whichever you prefer. ☺

Hello all, I just wanted to do a quick post because tomorrow is Star Wars Day and I don't want to wait until Monday to post this.
So today my family and I went to an artisan faire and they had blacksmithing and a maypole and face-painting and all kinds of other stuff. I forgot to bring my camera so I didn't get any pictures of anything to show you, so, sorry about that. My sister wanted to get her face painted but the wait was so long that she gave up. I told her that if we could go buy some face paints then I would paint it for her. We went to Michael's and got some face paints and here is the result.

Pay no attention to the time and date stamp, someday I might just fix it. :P
I'm pretty proud of my first attempt at face-painting, and she absolutely loved it, so YAY! ☺

I know that it's a bit late in the day, but, meh. So today, May 2, 2014, marks the 16th Anniversary since Harry Potter defeated The Dark Lord Voldemort for the final time. Yay! Here's a short video summarizing the story for y'all.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah, no. ^_^

Now for some Harry Potter fanart.

Tick Tock Tick Tock

Hello all. I'm currently at my Grandmother's house for a visit. I slept on the couch last night, and when I woke up it was waaaay too early. She has a clock in her dining room that ticks really loudly and all I heard this morning was TICK TOCK TICK TOCK TICK TOCK, it was driving me crazy. I was commiserating with  Captain Hook a bit.

But then I thought of this video:

Then it wasn't so bad. ^_^

The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway

But not really, because I hate being cold. I know that you've probably seen a bazillion "Frozen" fanart, fanvids, and memes by now, but I'm about to share some more. Not much though, so don't worry. I posted a little preview of an Elsa pic that I was working on and promised that I would post it when it was finished. So here it is.

The Cold Never Bothered Me
I'm ridiculously nervous about posting this and I'm not really sure why. I was pretty happy with how this turned out. I know that I still have some stuff to work on, but I can see a major improvement compared to my old stuff, which makes me happy.
Now here's a video that Disney posted of the song "Let It Go" sang in 25 different languages which I think is absolutely beautiful.

Or to be more specific, PUMPKIN JUICE!

I still haven't figured out how to fix the date and time. :P

You may not know this, unless you're a member of my family, but I am absolutely OBSESSED with all things Harry Potter. I spend most of my time reading Harry Potter fanfics while hoping for more stories from J.K. Rowling. In the books and most of the fanfics they mention that Pumpkin Juice is served in The Great Hall and on The Hogwart's Express. I've been wanting to try it for a while and thanks to the folks at I now have the recipe, which is here: They also have a video on how to make it which I will post below. It had a sort of froth on top when I first made it because of the blender but now that its been in the fridge for most of the day its settled and looks like regular mixed juice. I have to say, I'm honestly surprised how it turned out. It's way better than I was expecting. Although its not very pumpkiny tasting. If I'm paying attention I can sometimes taste a hint of pumpkin but that's about it. I think next time I'll add a bit more pumpkin and see what that does to it. But it is very good how it is. If it doesn't turn out with adding more pumpkin I'll still be happy with the taste it currently has. It's sweet but not too sweet and its tangy and cinnamony all at once. Yes, I'm happy. ^_^

(And if you're wondering, those are dinosaur chicken nuggets on the plate behind my pumpkin juice.)

[Update: I made another batch but added more pumpkin this time. It didn't really change the flavor, it made the juice kinda grainy though, so I think I'll just stick to the recipe from now on.]

Let It Go

Hello, it has been quite a while hasn't it? There hasn't really been much going on with me. Still a hermit. I think I've left the house 3, maybe 4 times since I moved here (in December). I found a video of a cover of the song "Let It Go" from the movie Frozen that I wanted to share.

Isn't he so talented? Some of those voices are just spot on.

Here's a preview of an Elsa fanart pic that I'm working on.
I still need to tweak it a bit and color it. I'll be sure to post it once it is finished. ☺

Spaghetti Greatness

Ever since I was little, I've always loved my parent's spaghetti. They both make it differently of course and I've always slightly favored my Dad's spaghetti over my Mom's. I used to think it was because he didn't make it as often as she did so it was more of a treat whenever I got his spaghetti, but as I got to the stage where I was cooking for myself I realized I was wrong. I changed and tweaked my own spaghetti sauce until I finally surpassed my Mom's spaghetti (at least I think it's better :P ), but no matter what I did I couldn't match my Dad's.  My Dad made spaghetti tonight and I "happened" to be in the kitchen doing dishes at the same time. As I was doing dishes my ears perked up when I heard him opening up a bottle of Coca-Cola (I'm a bit of a coke addict), when I turned around he was putting the cap back on and since I didn't see his cup I jokingly said, "Did you just put coke in the spaghetti?" His reply, "Yeah, I always do."

Spicy Teen Wolf

Last night was the new Teen Wolf (YAY!), and since I don't have cable any more I had to wait until today and watch it on MTV's website. They still have commercials and usually they play the same ones over again for each commercial break. One commercial that I didn't mind watching over and over again was a new Old Spice commercial. In fact, I found it rather funny, so I'm making you watch it too. :P

Oooooh, silly Old Spice. On another note, I'm so exited that Teen Wolf is back! At first, since it's been a few months since the last episode I was all like, Meh, it's been a while, I know I liked it before but I don't know if I'll still keep up with it this season, but then I went ahead and watched the new episode and I'm all excited about it again. So you might have to put up with quite a few Teen Wolf posts in the near future since my brother isn't caught up on it and therefore I can't fangirl at him about it. ♥YAY TEEN WOLF!!!!!♥
